Radiology Quality Assessments

Zauron’s Radiology  Quality Assessments provide clients with second reads of imaging to identify overlooked, but clinically impactful abnormalities or chronic conditions. Zauron’s team of radiologists perform monthly assessments for myriad clients, including Astrana Health and several universities.  These assessments ensure accurate diagnoses & documentation, identify potential care gaps for proactive intervention, and provide opportunities for improvement.

Vertebral fracture assessments

Zauron has reviewed 1,000’s of exams from multiple clients and consistently finds that over 10% of cases  included previously unreported vertebral compression fractures. These findings are clinically significant, as such fractures increase osteoporotic risk and may worsen over time without intervention.

Zauron’s detections supported earlier clinical follow-up, as well as improved documentation accuracy and care coordination.

Aortic calcification assessments

Of 3,988 patients assessed (5,000 total exams) by Zauron for another client, Zauron identified 495 patients with aortic calcifications that were not properly coded (12.4% miscode rate), as well as 84 patients with aortic calcifications that were missed during initial reviews (2.1% misdiagnosis rate). These calcifications increase the risk of myriad cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease, stroke, or aortic stenosis.

Zauron’s detections enabled this client to provide proactive treatment to these patients.

How it works

Zauron provides end-to-end radiology quality assessments with human-powered clinical review. No software installation required. Clients independently determine which studies to submit to Zauron for review, and Zauron manages the full review and reporting workflow. Zauron provides services on a payer-agnostic basis.

Zauron supports targeted quality initiatives based on client priorities. Zauron radiologists review imaging studies provided by clients to assess the prevalence of clinically significant findings. For each patient identified with validated discrepancies, Zauron radiologists issue new reports reflecting updated diagnoses.

Each study undergoes structured multi-stage clinical review, including preliminary physician screening (no AI), Medical Director validation, client confirmation, and final radiologist reporting for confirmed discrepancies.

Zauron’s Radiology Quality Assessments enable timely and effective care management, enhance quality oversight, tighten documentation accuracy, and reduce long-term care complications.
